In November 2009 my wife and I bought a house in Lower Plenty with a large pool in a terraced area with no pool fence. A reputable pool builder referred Big Johns Pool Fencing Company to us.
John turned up punctually after our initial phone call & gave us confidence right from the start. We knew we needed glass to set off the area aesthetically, but needed guidance as to the look & shape etc. After looking around the area John came up with great ideas & suggestions as to which fence would enhance the area & be affordable to us. Measurements were taken & a few days later we had quotes on three options and a design that we were happy with. After comparing prices with other companies we gave John the go ahead & his crew Mark & Craig turned up on the promised starting day!
As our pool area was all paved they had to drill through the tiles & into the concrete base to install the posts. They were set the same day with zero disruption to our terrace. The glass panels were delivered a few days later & fitted. Finally the gates were installed and the entire fence was completed on time & with no price variation. Mark, Craig & John were a pleasure to deal with & the result is spectacular. As well as being very professional & neat Mark & Craig were friendly, happy men to have around. Not only did they install a magnificent pool fence they also fixed up a lot of little things that needed doing in our back yard. They are able to do so many other jobs that can sometimes be tricky for the average homeowner! We will be using them in the future for small building projects that need doing around the home! Fences may be their forte, but they are certainly very capable in other areas!!

When we first met with John we liked his CAN DO attitude, we had just bought the home, our concern was we had a beautiful pool area that whilst it had compliant doors from the house had no fencing for our young children, safety was paramount but we needed a fencing solution that would not detract from the setting, hence a completely frameless system.
What made the job difficult was we were doing it after the fact, normally frameless glass gets installed in a channel cast in before paving, we had paving already in place and these were specialty pavers, pulling them up would break them and the chances of getting a new batch to match the rest of the pavers was unlikely, hence the solution shown.
The result is as if it was always intended to be there and we are very happy. Craig, John’s right hand man was brilliant and we appreciated the efforts of Sam and Darcy as well. All up a great outcome that demonstrates there’s always more than one-way to do something.
