I love being part of bringing our owners ideas to reality. A sunny day, and this pool looks sensational. The rust-effect frameless glass fence ties in beautifully with the landscaping. The glass leaves a clear view from the house. The custom built fence at the rear holds the space. – A perfect area which looks great all year round.
Rust-Effect Pool Fence
The bold decision to go with a rust effect pool fencing complemented by the exceptional landscaping pulls the whole setting together. Bladed pool fencing is installed across the back with a sensational deck made of railway sleepers. The frameless glass with rusted spigots on the house side hints at rail pegs and the history from the mines and gold diggings around Warrandyte and along the Yarra River.
Complementing the look, the owners have added a few additional metal and rusted items without cluttering the space.
Key elements:
- 15 meters of frameless glass with rust effect spiggots
- 9 meters of bladed pool fence with rusted look
- Pool deck of old railway sleepers
The bladed pool fence is pool-legal and despite being a solid fence, is surprisingly unobtrusive when looking side-on. This makes it bled in easily to the bush landscape.
The rust-effect just works so well in the bush, I’m blown away!

I think this is the best bush pool area I’ve seen. The block is steep and the owners have brought together a look that complements the house, the block, the pool and the bush.
