Tip 1 – Use existing structures

Sometimes, pillars or supports are available to attach the pool fence to directly. This helps the fence blend in with the building and often saves money.

Tip 2 – Follow existing lines.

Sometimes, there is a natural line in the garden or house that lends itself to where the fence should run. This helps the fence integrate with the surrounds and gives a cleaner look. This may be achieved by extending an existing area.

Tip 3 – Consider Fixed as well as Movable Objects.

Tip 4 – Review Side Fences

This latice capper was added because of the raised garden beds. The garden beds effectively reduced the pale fence from 1800mm to 1600mm. 1800mm is the minimum height for the fence to be pool legal. The treated pine lattice caps are hand made. They cost a lot less than the Merbau alternative, and once they are painted, they blend right in. Tip 5 – Plan Garage Doors Carefully

Roller doors and gates have special requirements, which are important to get right. Your pool fence plan should take into account how you will use the space after the pool is installed. The white tubular fence in the mouth of the garage door uses bolt down posts. This means it is a 30 minute job to remove the whole fence and let large access through the garage when needed.

Quick removal fencing is sometimes worth including for occasional access.
